So this morning has not been my morning. I didn’t sleep well last night and ended up waking up exhausted. Since I was so tired I had a hard time getting myself moving and was running a little behind. In fact I was so sleepy I didn’t do my 5 point check to make sure that I had everything that I needed for the day. Once i got going in the morning and was ready to make the drive into to work I realized that I didn’t have enough gas to get to work and back. So I went to costco since they have the cheapest gas in the area. I got all the way up to pumps and got of my car only to realize that I hadn’t done my five point check and had managed to leave my wallet at home. Now at this point I would have just driven to work but I didn’t have enough gas to get there (yay for having really long commutes) so I had to go back home to get my wallet. On the way home I manged to almost get caught in a speed trap as two cop cars had setup on columbia road right near my apartment complex. Thankfully I wasn’t really speeding so I didn’t get pulled over.
Once I made it home i grabbed my wallet of the table and got my gas and headed to work. Thanks to my late start and false start to fill up I ended up getting caught in some construction traffic. It amazes me how much traffic can develop when a single lane is closed on the beltway since everyone and their brother feels the need to rubberneck and see what is going on. Thanks to the diaster of a start I ended up getting to the office about an hour later that I should have. hopefully the rest of the day gets better.
