On Sunday we met up with Jess and Glenn for brunch out in Annapolis. We went to this place called Carol’s Creek out on the harbor. Although it was still kind of a an icky overcast day the view from the restaurant was fantastic. More importantly though was this place was serving a Sunday brunch buffet instead of your normal menu. It has been forever since we’ve gone to a Sunday brunch buffet so I was happy and definitely enjoyed myself. They had eggs benedict, bacon, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, sausage, chicken soup, baked salmon, blackened tuna, salad and many other already prepared foods. Also they had carved ham, lamb, and roast beef along with made to order omelets and waffles. Needless to say I ate a ton of food trying out almost everything they had there. We were supposed to go shopping after brunch but ended up having to come home and sleep off our monster breakfast. All and in all a fantastic way to start a sunday off.

Woo Hoo!  Yesterday was my official “Thesis Planning Meeting” where my committee agreed with my plan to finish next July. Now it’s not just a verbal agreement, but a form on file that was signed my all of my committee.  Yay! -what a relief!

Now I need to start writing my final paper and working on my thesis.  I know the next several months will be busy for me, but it will be worth it to get out of grad school early.

So we’re a little backed up on our posts but on Monday for Labor day we went to try the mini golf place that is just south of us. It’s a place called Rocky Gorge. It’s only a few miles from our place and I’ve passed it many times when going to work. We finally managed to go there after Kale from Nicole’s lab recommended the place to us even thoug they live all the way in baltimore. The place was pretty busy and although kind of old and a little run down it was a ton of fun. It’s probably one of the more elaborate places i’ve been to with lots of little traps and moving thing.

Nicole managed to beat me but I called shenigans and think she either cheated or I let her win. Take your pick :-p . Of course both of us managed to hit our balls into the water. I even managed to hit my ball clear out of the course and had to go chase it down under some bushes.

The super long last hole. You started at the top of the hill and the hole was down at the bottom. It was a par 2 but we managed to go 4+
